Alternative tour: No, you can just show up at the meeting point and pay in cash on spot to your guide. Alternative Prague Tours happily accepts walk up participants. However, many Alternative Prague customers prefer to pay in advance. Prepayment also helps us determine group size and appropriate guide numbers.

To preregister and pay for your tour, click the “Book Now” button. You will receive an e-mail confirmation and receipt once your order has been processed.

Workshops: Yes, the workshops needs to be booked at least 24 hours prior.

Q: “In which language is the tour held?”

The tour is held in English, your guide is a native Czech speaker. If you want any different language, please get in touch with us and we will find the right professional tour guide according to your needs.

Q: “Where do we meet for these tours?”

Each tour has its own specific meeting spot. Once you book the tour and pay for it, we will send you a link via Google Maps.

Alternative Tour: The meeting point is in front of the Powder Tower in Republic Square. Your tour guide will be waiting for you there holding a black umbrella with colored spots.

Q: “How long is the tour and how hard is the walk?”

All tours are approximately 3 hours, depending on the size of the group. Most reasonably active people should be able to handle our walks. There are no major hills. We recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

Q: “What if I am late for my tour?”

All tours depart promptly at their scheduled times. Please arrange to arrive ten minutes early to avoid missing your tour. We usually wait for the latecomers 5 to 10 minutes if you will provide us with your email or phone number, we will always try to contact you if we can’t find you at the meeting point.
If you are running late, please call the Alternative Prague Tours at +420777312356, and we will attempt to put you in contact with your tour guide. Catching latecomers up to the tour detracts the guide’s attention from giving a proper tour to those who have arrived on time, so in the interest of a better tour for all guests, please be punctual. Q: “What if there are no available dates for the experience I’m interested in?”

You can contact us here and make a request for a specific date and time of the experience you are interested in. We will be happy to answer any questions you might have and we will do our best to find other alternatives for you to have the perfect experience here in Prague!

Q: “What should I bring with me?”

We suggest bringing water in a refillable bottle, and wearing comfortable shoes. In case of rain umbrella might be handy. Warm coat is mandatory during the winter months.

Q: “Are tours cancelled due to inclement weather?”

Tours run rain or shine, except in the case of severe weather emergencies (ie, blizzards, hurricanes, earthquakes etc). In the event of a tour’s cancellation, you will be contacted by Alternative Prague team and will certainly be allowed to reschedule.

Q: “I have to change or cancel a tour. How can I do that?”

If you have to change or cancel a tour please let us know as soon as possible. Just write us an email to Within 72 hours prior your booked tours departure, Alternative Prague Tours will try to reschedule the tour for you or refund you with the full amount paid.

Short-term cancellations (less than 72 hours before the tours departure): We will try to reschedule the tour for you, although we cannot guarantee that we will always be able to do this. If we aren’t able to do so, a short-term cancellation will result in full payment of the agreed tour price for the scheduled time to cover the associated costs. Thank you for understanding.

Q: “Is the tour wheelchair accessible?”

The regular tours in Prague are NOT fully wheelchair accessible. If you would like to attend any of our tours using a wheelchair, please contact us beforehand. We will try our best to adapt the tour towards your needs.

Q: “Can I pay in Euros?”

You can pay in Euros on the spot to the tour guide, we accept only notes and count with the exchange rate 1Euro=26CZK.

Q: “Do infants need a ticket?”

If you are bringing a child under 12, you do not need to purchase a ticket. All children age 12 and over will need a ticket.

Q: “What is our money-back guarantee?”

Q: “Are we allowed to tip our guide?”

Yes. Tips are not required but they are encouraged and greatly appreciated.
